2nd shift
General Summary:
Supervises and directs employees in foundry
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize manpower and equipment to maximize productivity while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
- Oversee all melting operations, inoculation, refractory work and ladle repair.
- Oversee all molding operations, core and tooling preparation.
- Direct the workforce to produce castings in accordance with procedures and work instructions.
- Continuously train employees in safe work practices.
- Direct employees to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Ensure that all iron poured, and molds made are within established parameters to ensure quality product. Has the authority to stop the production line should quality problems occur
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of PC’s and related software.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively supervise employees.
- The Foundry Supervisor will reside in the office and on the production floor. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and on their feet 50% on the production floor.
- Must be able to move about inside the office and in the plant.
- This position will operate a computer and other machinery in the plant.
- Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and other individuals in person and telephone.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience supervising and/or directing employees
- 3-5 years foundry experience with Disamatic molding and electric furnace knowledge
