What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping position at Metal Works Inc?
Job Summary
Prepare, package & label product to protect and prevent damage and to ensure prompt customer delivery. Checks receipt of incoming product for product identification (skid id tags, stamps, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Prior to packaging the product for shipment:
- Verify that ALL previous operations have been signed off.
- Visually checks product coming into shipping for any obvious damage; scratches, dents missing silk-screening, labels, etc.
- Notify the area Manager and or Quality when corrective action is required.
- Package product according to customer requirements, documented instructions or when no documented instructions are available, package to protect the product from damage during transit.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Complete job travelers and ensure job paperwork follows parts through the manufacturing process.
- Enter labor in to the manufacturing system via barcode prior to releasing product to the next operation.
- Responsible for the quality and adequacy of own work.
- Adherence to the Company?s Personnel Policies & Procedures
