Role Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team. This key role ensures the smooth operation of our daily accounting functions, including AR and AP processing. Additional responsibilities include preparing and managing shipping documentation (domestic and international) related to billing and accounts receivable, as well as contributing to monthly and year-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate, thorough day-to-day accounting activities.
- Verify and ensure the accuracy of general ledger coding.
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, cash receipts, and collections.
- Handle accounts payable functions, such as resolving discrepancies, inputting data, obtaining approvals, producing checks, and maintaining records.
- Prepare Metalex Shippers, BOLs, and other shipping documentation for billing and AR purposes.
- Assist the Treasurer and Controller with special tasks and projects as needed.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with vendors and customers.
- Review customer contracts and ensure compliance with billing requirements.
- Maintain and improve documentation, including detailed work instructions and a Job Reference Manual for all responsibilities.

Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook); certifications are a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas, VBA Lookups, Macros, Conditional Formatting) preferred.
- Experience with AS400 ERP and Kronos Timekeeping is a plus.
