We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our 2nd shift team at Metalico in Girard, Ohio, a leading full-service scrap metal recycler in the Northeastern United States. The ideal candidate will have industry experience in scrap metal recycling, ability to perform preventative maintenance, and attention to detail and accuracy.

Summary:
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for directing the 2nd shift production and maintenance crew, collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and Yard Manager to ensure equipment and production readiness and responsible for the motivation and safety of those employees under their supervision. This position works closely with operations, maintenance, and environmental, or some combination of all.

Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise operations to ensure positive labor efficiency and variance through proper usage of personnel.
- Maintain high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Prepares daily work schedules and production schedules for each week.
- Maintain a high level of quality by doing regular inspections of products.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of basic hand tools and proper use.
- Knowledgeable in the use of safety practices.
- Communicate job expectations, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
- Process work orders.
- Perform assignments in a timely manner.
- Work autonomously or act as an effective team member, exhibiting good inter-personal skills.
- Learn and work in accordance with safety, environmental and security procedures and instructions.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed.
- Oversee the 2nd Shift maintenance crew on an as needed basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years production supervisory experience preferred.
- Good mechanical aptitude and math skills.
- Strong analytical skills and theoretical background in mechanical systems.
Work Hours:
- Monday through Friday with a 40 hour workweek, two Saturdays a month as scheduled.
- Overtime may be required to fulfill business and production needs.
