Job Description
We are seeking a Power Sales Engineer to join our growing team.
- This role will serve as the primary technical contact for Metglas Power customers.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for training potential customers on how to manufacture amorphous transformer cores.
- Troubleshooting customer issues and working with quality to resolve complaints are also key responsibilities.
- The ideal candidate will work closely with our Lead Scientist to understand distribution transformer design and run simulations based on market/product standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Primary technical contact for Metglas Power customers.
- Train potential customers on proper manufacturing techniques.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and work with quality to resolve complaints.
- Work with Lead Scientist to understand distribution transformer design and run simulations.
- Coordinate with sister facility in Japan to share technology as required.
- Responsible for power core designs for internal production.
- Travel when required.
Key Success Factors
- Understand current capabilities for DT core prototyping, cutting, forming, annealing, and testing.
- Update technical training documents to support new customer development.
- Develop internal capability in various core designs to sample customers.
Required Attributes/Skills
- Knowledge of soft magnetic properties, electrical calculations, and measurements.
- Knowledge of transformer design.
- Knowledge of statistic analysis and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (particularly Excel).
- Open to travel (up to 50%) and willing to work with customers face to face.
Education/Experience Required
- Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in the distribution transformer industry or electric utilities.
- Computer and data analysis skills.
