Position Overview:
Our client, a nationally recognized healthcare provider known for its commitment to patient care and community service, is seeking a Director of Surgical Services. This key leadership role involves managing the surgical department's operations, staffing, and resources while ensuring adherence to clinical and regulatory standards. The director will lead quality improvement initiatives, drive staff development, and work closely with executive leadership to meet organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Surgical Services department.
- Effectively manage budgets, resources, and supply chains.
- Lead quality improvement and performance enhancement programs.
- Facilitate staff development, ensuring annual competency assessments are completed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal clinical policies.
- Maintain consistent communication with hospital administration.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a Compact state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- At least two years of supervisory experience in a surgical service line within an acute care hospital in the past five years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (e.g., MSN, MHA).
- Experience in Operating Room (OR) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings.
- Previous experience in a community hospital environment.
