Metro Wire was founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1976 and then went on to establish its southeast Regional Distribution Center in Atlanta, Georgia in 1981, and then it’s Midwest Regional Distribution Center in Iowa City, Iowa in 2008. The company is now headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan and maintains extensive inventories tailored specifically to customer requirements at each location. We are looking for a highly motivated and driven Sales Representative for our Southeast Distribution Center in Lawrenceville (Atlanta), Georgia.
Responsibilities:
- Phone solicitation including cultivating new accounts and follow-up calls to maintain customer contact
- Personal customer contact during working hours and possibly evenings, special events and weekends (ex. off-site visitation, lunches, dinners, entertainment and sporting events)
- Spot purchasing and/or expediting, if needed
- Preparation of quotes and sales orders in accordance with Metro Wire & Cable policies and procedures
- Obtaining and delivering the product to customers, as required
- Mailing and delivering literature, samples and other promotional items
- Providing assistance to other salesperson’s accounts, when necessary
- Participation in marketing and product knowledge programs
- Attending all sales meetings, and individually preparing materials for sales meetings as assigned
- Completion of Metro Wire & Cable Wire Training Class and other continued learning
- Utilizing Metro Wire & Cable Customer Relationship Management software and updating information in accordance with Metro Wire & Cable policies and procedures
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- A minimum education of a high school diploma, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous, proven sales and customer service experience (3 years)
- Electrical distribution / wire & cable industry experience preferred but not required
- Proficient computer literacy (MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Familiarity with CRM platforms
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Positive, professional and outgoing demeanor is crucial as this candidate will interface with customers often
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
- Highly motivated, results driven individual
- Excellent administrative proficiency and customer service skills
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
