Requirements:The Opportunity
The Sack Summer Hunger Intake Specialist at Metrocrest Services is the first point of contact for clients and the community, making this role critical to representing the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of Metrocrest Services. The chosen I & R Specialist will assist with incoming telephone inquiries, voicemails, and emails in a timely and professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- 2 Years of Customer Service Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in business or related field of study (preferred)
Schedule Commitment
The Sack Summer Hunger Intake Specialist works 40 hours per week, with occasional evening hours. Additionally, this position works one (1) Saturday from 9:00am - 1:00pm on a rotating basis. This position requires punctuality and dependability in attendance to meet the needs of our clients and the agency.
Pay Range
This opportunity is non-exempt with an hourly rate of $23.46

Essential Job Functions
- Responds to incoming telephone inquiries, voicemails, referrals and emails in a timely and professional manner
- Refers callers to the appropriate outside agencies based on their needs and provide them with required contact information
- Provides professional and courteous assistance to all clients
- Answers questions, directs public to proper area or person, collects, scans, documentation required in addition to pre-screening clients
- Input client information into computer database, follow all necessary steps for navigating client database system
- Directs clients and internal/external partners and stakeholders to and from appointments
- Processes Food Pantry clients and issues cards as needed
- Deescalates clients who are in crisis with a trauma-focused lens and with dignity and respect
- Performs other duties as assigned

The Sack Summer Hunger Intake Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Intake & Referral.
