We are the North American division of world-renown Metrohm AG (Herisau, Switzerland), an industry leader in laboratory instruments and accessories for analytical testing/research. We are looking for a Applications Specialist to join our team in Riverview, Florida. It's your chance to be a part of a dynamic team and make an immediate impact! This is an office based position in our Riverview, Florida facility.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the sales process by developing analysis methods for the characterization of customer submitted samples. This support typically begins with defining and negotiating the project scope, followed by detailed planning and execution of lab experiments with customer submitted samples, and culminates with the reporting and presenting of results at the customer site or through a remote meeting platform such as TeamViewer or MS Teams.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and document user-friendly solutions for the analysis of customer samples as part of pre-sale feasibility studies.
- Work with Product Specialists to define/develop applications for competitive positioning of Metrohm USA products
- Provide VOC feedback to Product Management teams
- Provide applications assistance in response to customer inquiries (both internal and external), including education, training and on-site visits.
- Write technical documentation, analytical reports, and presentations for customers and the Metrohm USA Product Team(s).
- When necessary, provide post-sale applications support by assisting the technical support team and participating in the Escalations process.
- Performs or assists in training sessions, both in house and in customers’ laboratories. Training can include class room lecture and hands on instrument training,
- Requires up to 20% travel including international.
- All other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications:
Master of Science or Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry, Physics or related field with four years of technical experience in Titration; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Titration (Manual or Automated) is required.
- Experience with Titration automation programming is highly desired
- Ability to work independently, apply judgement in real-time, and deal with challenging problems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and systematic troubleshooting skills.
- Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Previous Experience with Metrohm hardware and software is a plus
