Collections Manager

Position Summary:

The Collections Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating the collections team to ensure the efficient recovery of overdue accounts. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance collections processes, resolving disputes, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will be tasked with managing collections for high-value, high-priority customers, while fostering and maintaining strong customer relationships. We are seeking an individual who excels in a fast-paced, startup environment and is willing to take a hands-on approach to drive results.

Position Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the collections process to ensure timely and efficient payment of outstanding invoices
• Communicating with key customers regarding overdue accounts and negotiating payment arrangements as necessary.
• Utilize appropriate collection techniques based on account status and delinquency level.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Customer Excellence and Sales to resolve customer disputes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities and customer interactions.
• Customer data clean up in ERP System for adjustments on customer accounts specific to write-offs, settlement arrangements, and bankruptcy claims.
• Prepare and manage reports on credit and collections performance, including aging and DSO reports.
• Analyze credit and collections data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Locate customers through skip-tracing methods when necessary.
• Develop and implement effective collection strategies to optimize recovery rates.

Candidate Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in credit & collections required
• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Effective multitasking abilities for managing multiple cases simultaneously
• Basic data entry and typing proficiency
• Communicate effectively (both oral and written)
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team
• Advanced skills in Excel & other MS office applications with strong knowledge of ERP software preferred
• Experience with Salesforce a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or related fields preferred.
