Safety Coordinator
As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for preparing reports by gathering data, drafting content, and organizing materials. This role often requires working with other departments and teams across the organization to collect metrics and data to ensure accuracy and integrity in the data and reports produced. Although no direct supervision is involved, a successful candidate will be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with external field operations, various office environments, and administration of Metronet's Environmental Health & Safety program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with various departments and leadership to collect, draft, and organize data and material.
- Creating, continually refining, and further automating weekly and monthly reporting. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) monthly, quarterly, and annually across departments, developing strategies to align implementation with company objectives.
- Maintains current and historical statistical data and prepares trends and forecasts for leadership at all levels.
- Support the design, maintenance, and organization of compliance reporting libraries, shared drives, and documentation libraries.
- Works with development team to update, maintain, and validate data on the safety dashboard
- Assists the Safety Operations Supervisor in maintaining the Safety Portal Page
- Monitor and respond to the Safety Departments office calls and emails during regular business hours.
- Schedule drug screenings and medical treatments as necessary and monitor results as needed.
- Manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
- Assist in maintaining safety policy handbook and site-specific policies that are required by law.
- Conducts safety training and demonstrates the use of safety programs and software.
- Assists with new-employee health and safety training and developing materials for these presentations.
- In conjunction with Safety Operations Supervisor, will monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements.
- Other job-related duties as requested
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Willingness to work as a team and independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general workplace safety practices is a plus
- Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
- Familiarity with compliance reporting and documentation practices.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize work, manage complexity and deliver solutions on deadlines.
- Detail oriented with the ability to handle a variety of tasks.
- Act as a liaison between the business and all departments across the company.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
- Occasional travel may be required for training or site visits
- Ability to work in an office setting with occasional exposure to industrial or field environments.
- May require standing, walking, or lifting while performing safety department related activities.
