Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the check out agent, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This position will also serve as a back up Medical Assistant when needed. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in phone systems, and a solid understanding of office management within a medical setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage incoming calls using phone systems, directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Schedule appointments , process insurance verifications , maintain fax inbox and referrals.
- Process medical records request
- Handle patient inquiries regarding health information management and medical services.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all files are updated and compliant with regulations.
- Will cross train as back up Medical Assistant when needed.
- Take patient histories and vital signs, documenting information accurately in EHR.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Administer basic medical procedures as directed, such as EKG's, PT/INR and heart monitors.
- Provide support in patient education regarding cardiology treatments.
- Utilize EClinical software for managing patient data and appointments.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a front desk or insurance role in a medical office setting.
- High School diploma or equivalent; medical assistant certification a plus.
- Proficient in using phone systems
- Proficent in using EHR systems and standard office software; Eclinical knowledge is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Some minor travel required occasionally
- Knowledge of cardiology terminology and procedures are a plus.
