We are now hiring for a full-time Family Coach to join our Calumet Team in the Permanent Supportive Housing program!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Works with the full family in a collaborative and supportive manner to help, motivate, and inspire individual and family goal setting while allowing the family to drive the work.
- Have a deep respect for a family’s expertise, which is fundamental to establishing trust.
- Provides services in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity so that autonomy, rights and dignity are preserved.
- Help the client to identify strengths and then work with the families to utilize these strengths and build others.
- Use of trauma informed practices
- Provides services according to values and principles for family centered coaching.
- Completes the intakes and monitors family goals and activities.
- Provides follow up to ensure family goals are progressing or achieved
- While using a family-centered approach, services should focus on addressing the following areas: (1) Foster Economic Independence; (2) Increase Earning Power; (3) Support Academic Achievement; (4) Enhance Stability and Quality of Life.
- Addresses housing related issues including lease.
- Provides linkages to support services including transportation, childcare assistance, clothing and uniform assistance.
- Records family progress in HMIS and case files.
- Handles emergency and crisis situations with clients.
- Works within contract, grant, and program requirements including meeting timelines and reporting requirements.
- Utilizes a team approach and works with other program staff in the planning and implementation of services.
- Takes increasing responsibility for own professional development, utilizing supervision and other developmental opportunities within and outside the agency to enhance skills and understanding.
- Works effectively with diverse staff and service populations. Accountable for providing exception customer service.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university, preferred
- Two years experience in case management, which includes the coordination of services and housing needs, required.
- Must have access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance to perform essential job functions.
- Demonstrated ability to render adequate service to clients and to organize and manage job efficiently.
- Requires mobility to work with community-based caseload.
- Ability to maintain assigned community and home-based services.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Bilingual preferred, not required
- Must be highly organized and knowledge of Excel to track data.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
SALARY:

The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $42,250 and $46,750 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.
