What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metro Action Commission Food Service Worker 1 position at Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County?
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Ensure all dish machines, sinks, mops and buckets are properly cleaned daily
- Ensure dish machine area is properly cleaned, sanitized and organized daily
- Place racks, mats and dish carts in designated areas at completion of shift
- Monitor and report equipment malfunctions
- Properly wash and sanitize all pots, pans, plates, platters, bowls, serving utensils and flatware that is used daily
- Provide accurate distribution of plates, platters, bowls, serving utensils and flatware
- Provide accurate distribution of containers and food
- Place distribution containers with above named items in transportation vehicle just prior to the end of the daily shift
- Place breakfast supplies in the vehicle just prior to the end of the daily shift for next day distribution
- Place lunch items in the “prep” area just prior to the end of the daily shift
- In and Out record Sheet must be completed when drivers arrive and depart
- Understand menus and recipes
- Attend and/or assist with all required meetings, as requested
- Maintain high standards of sanitation in kitchen and serving areas
- Report any vehicle abuse, scratched, broken parts and unnecessary abuse of transportation vehicles
- Keep area organized and clutter free
- Inform supervisor of chemical and small equipment inventory
- Assist in special events as required
- Perform duties as instructed by supervisor
- Demonstrate positive and professional work habits
- Assume other job related duties as requested

- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Experienced in working in varied temperatures
- Experienced working in an environment that requires: standing, lifting, and bending continuously throughout the day
