What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metro Action Commission Food Service Worker 2 position at Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County?
This is a Full-Time, Non-Civil Service located with Metro Action Commission. Position includes medical, dental, vision, and other insurance benefits.
WORK HOURS:
MONDAY-FRIDAY:
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.

- Assist in the preparation and review of the weekly menus on a daily basis
- Prepare breakfast and lunch each school day
- Assist in the planning of nutritionally menus
- Monitor and report equipment malfunctions
- Prepare foods by using the CACFP guidelines with regard to correct temperature controls
- Responsible for using the proper satellite equipment such as insulated pans/containers
- Understand menus and recipes
- Attend and/or assist with all required meetings, as requested
- Maintain high standards of sanitation in kitchen and serving areas
- Assist in special events as required
- Perform duties as instructed by supervisor

- Knowledge of food preparation of institutional methods, materials, utensils, and equipment
- Experience in articulating and converting recipes, and completing required production documents
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Experience in working in varied temperatures in a commercial kitchen setting
- Experience with proper standing, lifting, and bending continuously throughout the day
