Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller. This position reports to the Controller. This position is expected to have a strong sense of ownership, ability to identify process improvement opportunities. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of multifamily accounting experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant is expected to perform position-related duties that include, but are not limited to:
• Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and supporting analyses.
• Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable
• Payroll (using ADP)
• Bank reconciliations
• Prepare reconciliations as assigned and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Communicate timely and effectively with co-workers and management on financial related matters with appropriate detail.
• Ad hoc projects as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications
• 3-5 years operational accounting experience in a similar role in multifamily.
• Degree in accounting or related field
• Advanced knowledge of RealPage, Onesite or Yardi.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against deadlines
• Must have excellent time management skills and sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience working with Payroll.
• Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology.
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with managers and coworkers.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Skill in organizing and reporting information that is accurate and complete.
• Consistency and timeliness in attendance.
