Role Summary
The Head of Information Technology will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of all information technology (IT) systems and services. The primary focus of this role is to enable the cross-functional teams, i.e. research and development, and business functions, to ensure the effective utilization of technology resources to meet their challenging goals, by driving innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
The position reports to the CFO and the ideal location is NY/NJ/CT area.
The Impact you will have at Metsera
Cybersecurity and Risk Management
- Establish and maintain a robust cybersecurity program to protect Metsera assets, data, and intellectual property
- Implement security controls, incident response plans, and ongoing monitoring to identify and mitigate potential risks
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in cybersecurity and recommend enhancements to the security posture
Cloud based Software as a Service Strategy
- Enable Business System Owners evaluate and select appropriate cloud service providers and support their vendor relationships
- Support Business System Owners design, implement, and maintain of scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure, platforms, and systems
- Establish governance processes, policies, and procedures to ensure the secure and efficient use of cloud technologies
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection for critical systems and applications
Data Management and Analytics
- Enable the data management, statistical and analytics to enable data-driven decision-making, and research efforts
- Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to extract insights and value from large datasets
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations, especially GXP, HIPPA and GDPR
IT Operations and Support
- Manage the IT operations capability and provide technical guidance and leadership
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of information resources, and to ensure GXP and SOX compliance
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver technology solutions that meet their needs
Digital Coaching, Innovation and Transformation
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, including 1:1 coaching
- Identify opportunities for leveraging emerging technologies, such as AI and automation, to drive operational efficiency and competitive advantage
- Champion digital transformation initiatives and guide the organization in adopting new digital tools and processes
What you bring to Metsera
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred
- Proven experience (minimum 15 years) in senior IT leadership roles, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong expertise in cloud computing, R&D systems, and enterprise systems architecture
- Experience with data management, analytics, and business intelligence solutions
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks, such as FDA, GXP, SOX, or GDPR, is highly desirable
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strategic mindset and the ability to align IT initiatives with business objectives
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deliver results within tight deadlines

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The expected salary range for this position is $245,000 - $367,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
