Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate accounting, with a focus on business management, account reconciliation & reporting, and technical accounting. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards.
Duties
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Review of draft CPA reviews and annual tax returns prepared by outside CPA firms.
- Conduct account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries and monthly client billings.
- Utilize financial & construction software to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Maintain organized documentation for all financial transactions and ensure proper record-keeping practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven experience in private sector accounting and corporate accounting, construction experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and technical accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial & business software, particularly Sage, Excel, Word, Project are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present financial information to client base, legal teams, design professionals & government agencies.
- Must be a strong leader who can manage a very busy office.
- Willingness to establish a long term commitment to the position (current person is hoping to retire after 25 yrs. with the Company).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
