Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Construction

We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent who has built a variety of ground up commercial construction projects. A successful Assistant Superintendent at Meyer Najem has supported and helped deliver profitable construction projects ranging from $5M to $50M or more.

Position Responsibilities

• Ability to help lead profitable projects from $5M - $50M or more
• Update project schedule
• Punch list items
• Perform weekly safety inspections and/or weekly safety meetings
• Ability to lead project teams and all trades
• Interpret project scope, clarifications, prints, specifications, addendums, change orders, etc. and execute the work processes
• Perform work in compliance with the Company Safety Program and OSHA Standards
• Report all serious or unsafe work conditions immediately to the Project Supervisor
• Scheduling of subcontractors and manpower
• Order materials, tools, and equipment as may be required for the work onsite
• Effectively communicate between subcontractors and owner, architect and/or project manager, etc.
• Evaluate the abilities of subcontractors and manpower
• Execute and maintain all records onsite in an orderly and timely fashion
• Promote customer relations and customer service
• Obtaining all project specific lists
• Start daily log
• Review plans and specifications for potential and/or hazardous problems
• Obtain permits
• Schedule temporary electric, water and telephone/IT service
• Schedule sanitary/port-o-let, dumpsters, job trailer/office
• Designate/schedule fencing, barricades and parking requirements
• Schedule project sign and installation

Minimum Qualifications

• At least a High School diploma or GED required
• Commercial Construction or General Foreman experience strongly preferred
• A safety first mindset
• Familiar with technology: ProCore, SmartSheets, BlueBeam, Excel

Physical Requirements of the job:

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders without assistance
• Ability to walk for long periods of time unaided
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds without assistance
