Position Summary:
The Control Panel Business Development Manager will play a critical role in driving sales growth and expanding business opportunities for control panels and variable frequency drives (VFDs). Reporting to the Automation Technology Manager, this position is focused on leveraging technical expertise and customer-centric strategies to promote and sell advanced motor control solutions.
Primary Duties:
- Sales Growth and Business Development: Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities for control panels and VFDs within diverse industries, including manufacturing, HVAC, oil & gas, and renewable energy sectors. Including identifying opportunities for control panel shop acquisitions and partnerships.
- Customer Engagement: Collaborate closely with customers to understand their operational needs, offering tailored solutions that enhance energy efficiency, process control, and system reliability.
- Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of controls, motor starters and drives to recommend optimal solutions. Communicate technical requirements effectively to the engineering team to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
- Product Promotion: Champion the capabilities of MFCP’s control panel shops, engineering team and VFD partners to both internal sales teams and external customers. Highlight benefits such as multiple shop locations, engineering talent, professional drawings and existing customer relationship.
- Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between Customer, District Sales, Engineering, and the Center of Excellences to streamline project execution and deliver superior customer outcomes.

Basic Requirements:
- Proven track record in sales or business development within industrial automation or motor control systems.
- Strong understanding of VFDs, including their role in optimizing motor-driven systems like pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyors.
- Understanding of customized control panels and components, both technically and commercially, including intake requirements for RFQ’s, field support required, UL panel shop project fit, etc.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs) is a plus.
- Engineering or Technology Degree or Certification Preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive. Job requires frequent lifting up to 70 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, constantly walking/standing on cement flooring, and climbing ladders as needed. Work environment may vary including warehouse containing moving equipment, fluctuating temperature and inventory in various storage arrangements, office work, manufacturing, machine shops, agricultural operations, and any other specific business operations of current or potential customers. Salary:
$130k-$145k plus commissions
