Summary:
As a Detox Facility Activities Coordinator, you will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for residents through engaging activities and programs. Reporting to the facility manager, your core skills in communication and long-term care will be essential in fostering a supportive environment. Your premium skills in event planning and recreational therapy will allow you to create meaningful experiences for individuals with varying needs.
1. Education and Experience:
- Healthcare license with at least 1 year of experience in wellness programs, OR
- High school diploma/GED with 1 year of experience and certification from a recognized wellness/health/fitness organization (e.g., AFPA, AFAA, ACE, NETA, NASM).
2. Knowledge and Skills:
- Wellness program principles, fitness training methods, and exercise techniques.
- Operation and maintenance of fitness equipment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage, coordinate, and direct wellness activities.
- Familiarity with community resources and relevant laws and regulations.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting objects over 50 pounds.
3. Abilities:
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain professional relationships, client confidentiality, and a positive professional image.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and enforce safety procedures.
4. Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Valid California driver’s license and insurability.
- Fingerprint clearance (FBI and DOJ).
- Negative TB test and drug screening.
5. Physical and Mental Demands:
- Sufficient mobility, manual skill, and strength to engage in physical activities.
- Strong visual, auditory, and communication abilities.
- Mental acuity for safe and effective task performance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
