What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at MG Electric, Inc.?
We are looking for an experienced purchasing agent with knowledge in the electrical industry. You must be ablet to handle the workload of a mid size business.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing requisition requests, prepare purchase orders and solicit bids for goods and services
- Works closely with Superintendent, Foremen and CEO of the company on daily basis
- Negotiating and administering contracts with suppliers and vendors
- Manage relationships with key suppliers maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
- Must work well under pressure
- Monitor stock level
- Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)
- maintain updated records
- Attend events, fairs and exhibitions to keep abreast of the market’s trends
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Must be flexible to handle different tasks as needed
Skills
- Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
- Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
- Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices
- Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong analytical mindset
- Outstanding organizational skills
- BS/BA in business administration or relevant field a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
