Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Reading Interventionist to join our team at George Washington Carver Academy, a PreK – 8th grade public charter school in Highland Park.
This role is ideal for a certified teacher with experience working with young children who is committed to fostering a love of learning in students and preparing them to positively impact their community.

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment, developing lesson plans that align with state standards, and assessing student progress. You will also communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement engaging lesson plans that meet state standards
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and behavior
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning community
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress
- Provide additional support and resources to students who need extra help
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education
- Michigan teaching certification with endorsement in subject area
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of state standards and curriculum requirements
