George Washington Carver Academy seeks a Reading Literacy Coach for self-contained 6th – 8th grades with Michigan Teacher Certification and endorsement.
Our academy is a PreK – 8th grade public charter school in Highland Park, fostering a nurturing environment where scholars engage in the learning process, preparing them to positively impact their community. We prioritize hiring certified, professional teachers to ensure student success.
The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching and experienced working with young children. Responsibilities include creating a safe and engaging learning environment, developing lesson plans, and assessing student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and behavior.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning community.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress.
- Provide additional support and resources to students who need extra help.
- Participate in school-wide events and activities, such as field trips and assemblies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education.
- Michigan teaching certification with endorsement in subject.
