Position Summary
The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University, invites applications for a renewable faculty appointment in Medical Oncology. The positions are available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, in our Health Programs appointment system or Tenure System, depending on the qualifications and interests of the candidate. The successful candidate will join an existing medical oncologist, 3 dedicated medical oncology service nurses, 1 medical oncology service coordinator, and a radiation therapist.
The MSU Oncology Clinic is a state-of-the-art facility that was opened in 2005 as part of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The hospital provides comprehensive treatment of veterinary oncology patients and is staffed by board certified specialists in various fields. It is fully equipped with advanced technology and support services.
The position is flexible in meeting different work arrangements and lifestyles. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include management of referral cases, supervision and clinical instruction of house officers and students, and a commitment to scholarly contributions in the candidate's area of expertise. Participation in the pre-clinical teaching curriculum as well as contributing to the specialty service leadership are also available. Our Health Programs (HP) and Tenure System positions are dynamic, with clinical appointments ranging from 50-75% for the HP track and 30-50% for the tenure track.

Required Degree
Other - DVM / VMD (or equivalent)
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a DVM / VMD (or equivalent degree) and be board-certified or board-eligible in veterinary oncology. Eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Michigan is required.
Desired Qualifications
- MS / PhD (or equivalent degree) is preferred.
- Additional training / certification in clinical research.
- Teaching experience.
