Description:
The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce machined parts according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring quality and adhering to safety protocols. The position will start out on 1st shift
(7am -3:30pm) for training up to 3 weeks and then change over to 2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am)
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and set up CNC machines for specific machining operations.
- Load and secure raw materials or workpieces into the machine.
- Operate CNC machines, following pre-programmed instructions or making adjustments as needed.
- Monitor machine performance during operation, identifying and addressing any issues.
- Inspect machined parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet specifications.
- Use measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Document and report any quality issues or defects.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning and lubrication.
- Identify and troubleshoot minor machine problems, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Ensure the machine is operating safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations when operating CNC machines.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand part specifications and machining requirements.
- Select appropriate tooling and materials for specific machining operations.
- Maintain accurate records of machine operations, production runs, and any issues encountered.
- Handle and store raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently.

- Manufacturing-floor setting.

- Regular use of equipment (depth gage, dial indicator, flashlight, optical comparator, height gauge, joe blocks)
- Moderate to high noise levels.
- Exposure to physical hazards.
- Worker is subject to possible bodily injury from exposure to heavy-duty equipment.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience as a machinist.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching to access different areas of machinery and equipment.
- Prolonged periods of standing at a machine.
