Description:
The Hand Finisher ensures molds are restored, cleaned, and finished to the required standards for production by working with specialized tools and machinery to perform intricate finishing tasks, focusing on precision, safety, and quality.
Essential Functions
- Inspect, clean, and repair worn-out tire molds.
- Perform detailed hand-finishing tasks on molds, including grinding, polishing, and smoothing surfaces.
- Remove any imperfections, scratches, or rough spots on the mold to ensure a flawless finish.
- Use hand tools such as grinders, buffers, and sanders to polish molds to a high-quality finish.
- Conduct visual and manual inspections to identify areas that need repair or finishing.
- Measure mold dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to verify they meet the required specifications.
- Record and report any deviations from mold quality standards.
- Maintain and operate finishing tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Keep workstations and tools clean and organized to prevent accidents and increase productivity.
- Work closely with other team members, including mold designers, engineers, and supervisors, to ensure molds are repaired and finished according to schedule.
- Communicate any issues or delays promptly to supervisors and suggest improvements to repair processes.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent workplace injuries.
- Document the work performed on each mold for traceability and quality assurance.
