Midland Contracting, Inc. is a company that specializes in Grading, Excavation, Recycling, Trenching and Gravel Lay-down in the earthwork industry.
**Essential Functions:**
Receptionist:
Attend to incoming phone calls promptly, ensuring that each call is answered with professionalism. Additionally, actively monitor and respond to any voicemails left by callers, providing timely follow-ups to address their needs and inquiries.
Human Resource/Benefits:
Coordinate a thorough pre-employment screening process that includes detailed assessments of candidates' qualifications to ensure a practical hiring evaluation. Support management during the hiring process by scheduling interviews and facilitating communication.
Accurately maintain employee benefits, including elections and payroll deductions. Maintain organized employment files for each employee and ensure all documentation complies with state and federal regulations by regularly reviewing and updating procedures to mitigate legal risks.
Organize and coordinate safety meetings to ensure adherence to both state and federal regulations.
Accounting:
Payroll: Process weekly payroll within QuickBooks, Ensure accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll; prepare and report certified payroll that adheres to all applicable regulations and standards.
Accounts Payable: Input bills into QuickBooks and accurately create payments as approved.
Accounts Receivable: Input invoices into QuickBooks and consistently track and document payments.
All other duties as assigned by management
**Required Skills/Abilities:**
Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster trust and instill confidence among team members and stakeholders.
Proficient writing abilities and strong command of MS Office Suite and QuickBooks to navigate administrative tasks effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, confidently setting and prioritizing personal work goals while collaborating directly with leadership when necessary.
