Summary:
This position will be a critical role in the Finance and Accounting Department and have responsibilities over developing cost accounting capability and processes along with general ledger accounting and reconciliations. The qualified individual must have strong experience of cost accounting for manufacturing and possess exceptional analytical, systems, Excel, and communication skills.
Essential Duties:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or accountancy preferred and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role with a manufacturing organization or comparable business enterprise or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties as listed above.
Demonstrated experience with implementing and monitoring the accounting aspects of a robust ERP system. Superior financial modeling skills in Excel. Must have expertise using array formulas, tables, data tables, 2 and 3 dimensional lookups, iterative solving and scenarios.

Summary:

Essential Duties:
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
- Establish and monitor the segregation of duties as necessary to ensure internal controls and prevent employee fraud
- Ensure accuracy of all internal and external financial reporting through creating auditing and reconciliation processes and through analysis of accounting outputs and variances
- Report financial results requested by executive management including monthly reporting packages, KPIs, budget vs. actual analysis, and commentary related to results
- Support the design and implementation of a produce-to-order manufacturing cost accounting system within the ERP software
- Ensure that the accounting output of the ERP system is timely and accurate, and communicated in a format that is professional and understandable
- Responsible for month-end closing reconciliations and journal entries
- Deliver all information requested by external audits and income tax reporting
- Understand state sales tax requirements and ensure staff and customer service compliance
- Understand all government reporting requirements, complete periodic filings, and pay associated fees
- Conduct research of financial data that is requested by executive management
- Develop (in coordination with the Finance and Accounting Director and Controller) unit and hourly costing methodologies to drive continuous improvement on the shop floor
- Develop and maintain a cost accounting system that ensures accurate costing
- Update and maintain standard costs and ensure accuracy in the Bill of Materials
- Analyze and collect data to determine costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, labor, overhead and production costs
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods to determine the impact on costs and margins
- Develop and manage credit application process
- Conduct credit analysis of current and prospective customers
- Monitor customer accounts and initiate action on past due balances
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management
- Maintain confidentiality with sensitive company and employee information
- Demonstrate high level of attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Have prompt and reliable attendance
