What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service advisor position at MidSouth Auto Care?
Our Service Advisors are the first point of contact and set the tone for customer experience. A Service Advisor is responsible for communicating with customers about their vehicle repair needs and relaying information to Technicians.
Their duties include greeting customers and helping them determine repairs and relevant costs, maintaining up-to-date knowledge about their employer’s range of services, and - most importantly - contacting customers to update them about their vehicle’s repair status.
Service Advisors are true professionals who enjoy helping others.
- Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective greeting.
- Accurately define the customer’s concern and work requirements, to enable the Technician to properly diagnose the issue and select the proper corrective measure.
- Continuously update the customer on the status of their vehicle in the shop.
- Answer customer questions about service outcomes and consulting with technicians when necessary.
- Write repair orders and submit for customer approval.
- Ensure that no work on vehicle starts without customer approval.
- Inform customers about potential warranty protections or assist in insurance claims.
- Overseeing and managing the schedule and work-flow.
- Informing customers of changes in service or when their vehicle is ready to be picked up.
