Purpose:
Plans, directs, and coordinates the operations of the dealership for the assigned region. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources. Attracts, retains, and effectively coaches management personnel. Consistently exhibits Midwest Machinery Company’s core purpose and values.
Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates activities of departments concerned with the sales, parts, and service of products
- Responsible for sales and operations leadership for assigned region
- Reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
- Directs and coordinates region's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency
- Assists in establishing and implements organizational policies, goals, objectives and procedures
- Works with corporate parts, service, sales, precision farming, ISG and marketing managers to ensure unified communication and objectives
- Ensures appropriate communication with customers, management staff and John Deere personnel
- Determines staffing requirements and directs and advises recruiting, staffing and employee development efforts for the region
- Attracts, retains, and develops management and sales personnel
- Creates a positive and productive work environment that attracts, motivates, and contributes to retaining high-performing employees
- Fosters a positive company culture and morale via managers in the region
- Provides leadership for continuous improvement of results-focused business and management processes at all region levels
- Attends meetings, conferences and seminars as appropriate
- Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent experience
- 5 years multi-unit and dealership management experience
- Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and within a group
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
- Proven ability to lead and inspire others
- Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to operations
- Ability to use Deere sales computer applications and tools
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
Physical and Mental and Other Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Varied work schedule including occasional evenings and weekends
- Frequent travel to dealer stores
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required
- Must pass a pre-employment background study
