Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pain Management Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery center team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide nursing care specific to pain management that meets the highest standards of your profession.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patient care areas to ensure availability of necessary pain management equipment and supplies.
- Assess patient fear/anxiety levels and provide comfort and support for patients and families.
- Verify patient identity using two patient identifiers before all interventions and medications.
- Implement preoperative physician orders and conduct comprehensive histories, physical assessments, and psychological evaluations prior to procedures.
- Evaluate patient suitability for discharge and coordinate follow-up care as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Pain Management or PACU settings, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
- Active RN license and required valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
- ACLS certification is mandatory, with PALS certification as required by facility practices.
