Pain Nurse PRN Opportunity
We are seeking a Pain Management Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery center.
Job Summary and Qualifications
- Provide nursing care specific to pain management that meets the standards of your profession.
- Identify patient and family needs, prepare patient care area, and ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
- Assess patient's level of fear/anxiety, provide comfort and support, and use two patient identifiers to verify patient prior to interventions and medications.
- Conduct complete history, physical, and psychological assessment to evaluate patient before procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patient care area adequately.
- Use patient identifiers to verify patient prior to all interventions and medications.
- Implement preoperative physician orders.
- Ensure team awareness of relevant information before and after procedures.
- Clear patient for discharge and contact for follow up.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Pain Management, PACU setting; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
- Active RN license as required by state of employment.
- Required valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
- ACLS required. PALS as required by facility.
