Are you a seasoned leader with a passion for hospitality and a knack for managing multiple brands? We're seeking a dynamic Restaurant Manager to oversee both Mike & Patty's and HotBox Pizza and Roast Beef out of our newly built restaurant in Bow Market Somerville.

We have our very own bakery that uses local grain to make the best English muffins, sourdough bread and pastries to supply our growing restaurant group. THE ROLE
As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations across both brands. This role demands a hands-on approach, working closely with teams to ensure seamless execution of our hospitality-driven service model. TO lead by example with our values that encompass being Positive, Proactive, Proactive and Passionate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Culture:
- Foster a positive, safe, and compliant workplace culture aligned with company values.
- Lead by example, providing mentorship, guidance, and motivation to staff.
- Recruit, hire, and retain top talent to build a high-performing team.
- Ensure a clean, well-maintained, and organized restaurant environment at all times.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the workplace.
Guest Experience & Community Engagement:
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by leading from the front and ensuring every guest feels valued.
- Develop and implement local community engagement initiatives to enhance brand presence.
- Address guest feedback with professionalism and implement service improvements based on insights.
- Uphold and enforce hospitality standards to ensure consistency across all guest interactions.
Operational Management & Compliance:
- Oversee and maintain food safety standards, ensuring compliance with Massachusetts health regulations, ServSafe guidelines, and local food codes.
- Implement and maintain workplace safety protocols in compliance with OSHA and state employment laws.
- Ensure all required permits and licenses (e.g., food service permits, business licenses) are current and in compliance with Massachusetts laws.
- Conduct regular audits to assess safety, cleanliness, and compliance adherence.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of all food items.
- Utilize and manage POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management tools efficiently.
- Ensure digital ordering and delivery platforms are effectively managed and updated.
Financial Management & Performance Optimization:
- Manage budgets, payroll, and financial reports to ensure profitability and cost control.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee labor costs and optimize scheduling to meet financial targets while maintaining service quality.
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize waste, theft, and inefficiencies.
Training & Development:
- Lead and support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of employees.
- Ensure staff compliance with ServSafe certifications and other required training programs.
- Facilitate regular staff meetings to reinforce policies, goals, and best practices.
- Provide ongoing performance evaluations and coaching to enhance employee growth.
Problem Solving Management:
- Develop and execute emergency response protocols, including first-aid procedures and fire safety.
- Handle guest complaints, employee disputes, and unforeseen issues with professionalism and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with workers' compensation laws and proper incident reporting.
- Troubleshoot and oversee basic technology maintenance for restaurant operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years of management experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- A passion for hospitality & providing great service
- Proven achievement of key performance indicators in prior management positions
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of developing talent.
- Financial acumen to manage budgets and analyze performance metrics.
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A team player who enjoys working on a team to achieve great performance
- Ability to work in a high demand, fast paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40lbs
- ServSafe certification.
- Works a schedule that is on the needs of the business, a minimum of 5 days
- Ability to recognize problems and problem solve
- Proficient at using and managing technology software (i.e POS, Email, Calendar Events)
