Overview
The HR/Payroll Assistant will assist the HR Manager in various HR and payroll-related processes. Responsibilities include maintaining personnel files, payroll management, training compliance, staffing coordination, HR compliance, and other designated functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the accuracy of the HR White Board with all open positions.
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Collect and verify three references per applicant before making job offers.
- Conduct monthly and pre-employment OIG/SAM verifications.
- Prepare and arrange delivery of new employee swag bags and badges.
- Coordinate AZUGA GPS card issuance for new hires as needed.
- Update office door nameplates as required.
- Assist HR Manager with onboarding tasks as needed.
- Maintain the birthday/anniversary calendar in the HR office.
- Oversee and coordinate Star12 monthly/quarterly training sessions.
- Update the Phone Extension Directory in Teams.
- Maintain and update the Organizational Board in Teams.
- Stay informed on the current HRIS system.
- Maintain employee uniform stock for new hires.
- Assist with updating the HR department SOP’s
- Organize and oversee training compliance, including scheduling, booking venues, and coordinating with managers and staff.
- Track employee training progress, maintain records, and provide reports to management.
- Serve as a backup to the HR Manager for all payroll-related tasks.
- Process payroll in Paylocity, ensuring timely payment to employees by the 10th and 25th of each month.
- Ensure all employees are in the payroll system and conduct final payroll checks upon termination.
- Support employees with payroll-related inquiries.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently by gathering and analyzing necessary information.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the HR department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in human resources and payroll OR an equivalent combination of education and experience providing comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and regulatory HR/payroll requirements.
- Understanding of quality customer service standards and HR best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in establishing effective working relationships and collaborating with staff.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
