Position: Bi-Lingual Adjustment CounselorLocation: Woodland Elementary SchoolSchedule: 2025 2026 School Year Salary: Per Teachers ContractTo Start: August 25, 2025 (plus two mentoring days prior to start date, 8/19-8/20)Qualifications: Licensed by DESE as School Social Worker/Adjustment CounselorDegree in Counseling/Social Work LICSW/LMHC or in process, preferredElementary school experience, preferredCompletion of the 2-hour online Language Ambassador Training Course, certificate required upon hireBilingual, Portuguese and/or Spanish required.oProof of proficiency in the Target language, as aligned to DESE Guidance for the Provision of Interpreters in the Education Setting (p.8), required within the first year of employment. Responsibilities: The following items are completed in English and/or the targeted language, as appropriate: Provide individual and/or group counseling to students on a weekly basisIntervene during crisis situations and make appropriate referralsConsult with administrators, nurse, parents, teacher and community providersAttend IEP and 504 meetings as neededDevelop protocols for teachers for dealing with crisis at schoolAttend adjustment counselor meetings, department meetings, faculty meetings and community meetings Serve on School Crisis TeamWork collaboratively with court and police officials regarding truancy and court casesCPI training and certification preferredProvide staff training on behavioral and mental health issuesFacilitate building to building transition meetingsDevelop IEP counseling goals and provide services as neededWork collaboratively with staff to develop and implement Behavior Intervention PlansActive member of the pre-referral processPerform any other duties as designated by the administrator
