SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Under the Supervision of the Superintendent, the Business Administrator supervises, manages and coordinates the business affairs of the district efficiently and effectively to ensure that educational support services help to achieve the educational goals of the district with the available financial resources.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Understanding of the principles and practice of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code, and GAAP requirements.
- Knowledge of accepted business practices in school districts related to budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, human resource management, payroll, transportation, food services, and school plant operations and facility planning.
- Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintains confidentiality.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certified as a School Business Administrator by the NH State Department of Education preferred.
- Minimum of (3) years of prior experience in comparable business management or financial management positions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, MBA or CPA preferred.
- Such alternatives to these qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Certification as a School Business Administrator by the NH State Department of Education preferred.
