What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator (2nd Shift) position at MILLAT INDUSTRIES?
2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm M-F
$17.00/hour
10% Shift differential
*This position will start through a staffing agency for the first 90 Days.
The Machine Operator learns and operates CNC Machines and machining centers. The Operator also applies basic knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
Essential Job Functions
- Learns industrial math, print reading, and machining theory related to the department they are assigned
- Under the guidance of the Trainer or Team Leader, the operator learns skills related to the department which they are assigned
- Loads raw material and unloads finished product from machine
- Preforms basic deburring on product.
- Can use/read Micrometers and Calipers
- Learns basics of safety, sawing, drilling, materials, turning, and speeds and feeds
- Learns safe operation of, receives practical experience on: lathes and milling machines within the department. they are assigned
- Follows sequence of operation on router
- Communicates with co-workers, and team leader to receive instructions and coordinate activities
Job Classification Requirements
- High school graduate with previous manufacturing experience a plus
- Must have a good work ethic
- Must be dependable and flexibly with a good attendance record
- Must be detailed oriented
- Must have aspirations of becoming a machinist
- Must stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
- Exerts between 10 and 50 pounds on frequent basis
- Always adheres to Company safety policies
