Millhill Child and Family Development was established in 1971 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving abused and neglected children in Trenton, NJ. The services and programs we provide today have been developed over time and with great understanding of what the community needs. We began primarily as a childcare center, and flourished and expanded by communicating with parents and the community.
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient bilingual Family Worker and Front Desk Agent. This is a dual role and the ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to visitors and parents of our children, managing administrative tasks and supporting the full-time Family Worker, and maintaining the overall welcoming atmosphere of our office. Responsibilities:
Family Worker (approximately 16 hours per week)
- Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Education, serves as a point of contact with families in the program.
- Initiates community engagement activities to achieve enrollment goals and conducts outreach to stakeholders.
- Attends school district meetings.
- Communicates with parents regularly through emails, phone calls, and memos, as well as engaging parents in any events or issues occurring in the program.
- Manages intake process, reviews eligibility, and assists families with completion of enrollment process; prepares and maintains required presentations, reports, and records, as directed.
- Completes and maintains the USDA (lunch) applications.
- Inputs student information in Outcome Tracker and prepares classroom information reports.
- Coordinates and distributes meals to classrooms.
- Coordinates with meal program vendor when meals are not needed or in cases of excess food.
- Preparation of parent orientation, “welcome back” events and other parent engagement events.
- Cooperates with other staff in planning and conducting special events and projects.
Front Desk Agent
- Greets and assists clients, guests, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manages and maintains the front desk area, ensuring it is tidy and well-organized.
- Provides administrative support, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and takes messages.
- Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience
- Prior experience in a front desk or administrative role is essential.
- Proven ability to work in an office environment and provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literacy and experience with administrative software.
- Office experience and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- 1-2 years' experience working in an office environment
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- An outgoing personality to communicate with parents of children that attend our preschool
- The ability to work with the community and assist parents with resources and enrolling in our programs
