As a flex houseparent at Milton Hershey School, you'll be responsible for creating a nurturing family-like environment for a group of 8-12 students. You'll live on campus with your spouse and work together to provide guidance, daily activities, and administrative responsibilities.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of $43,825 per person, totaling approximately $150,000 per couple. This includes comprehensive benefits, such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, and retirement savings.
In addition to the generous compensation package, we provide relocation assistance and paid training to ensure your success in this role.
Responsibilities
As a flex houseparent, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing a consistent family-like structure for students
- Handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting
- Participating in daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
- Lifting up to 50 lbs when necessary
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you and your spouse must meet the following requirements:
- Be legally married for at least two years
- Be age 27 or older
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Pass a background check
