Milton Hershey School seeks experienced married couples to serve as flex houseparents, providing a family-like environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a houseparent, you will be responsible for guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students, managing daily responsibilities, and embodying positive role models.
Job Description
The ideal candidate couple should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses must be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. The couple must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required.
Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students. Both spouses must complete an individual employment application. This is a unique career path that requires consideration and commitment from both spouses.
