What are the responsibilities and job description for the Couples in Student Guidance position at Milton Hershey School?
Milton Hershey School provides an exceptional education to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our House Parents play a vital role in fostering a nurturing environment where students can thrive and grow. As a House Parent, you will be part of a married couple who resides in on-campus homes and provides guidance and support to 8-12 students. You will handle various responsibilities, including transportation, administration of medication, and budgeting. This role is ideal for couples with experience in youth mentorship and a commitment to fostering a positive family-like structure. To be successful in this role, you must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings, be a legally married couple for at least two years, and both spouses should be age 27 or older. No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home, and you must abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus. Additionally, you must have a valid driver's license, ability to become certified to drive student home vans, and high school diploma or GED required. We offer comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, retirement savings, relocation assistance, and paid training provided. Our workdays include a period of personal time while students are at school, and we offer a three-week paid summer vacation. This is a unique career path that takes consideration and commitment from both spouses.
