Milton Hershey School offers a unique career path for married couples to become flex houseparents. As part of this program, couples will reside in on-campus student homes, providing guidance and support to a group of approximately 8-12 students.

Flex houseparents play a critical role in the educational journey of our students, offering a family-like structure and handling various responsibilities such as driving, medication administration, and budgeting.

About the Role

• Reside in on-campus student homes with a group of approximately 8-12 students
• Provide guidance and support to students, including daily activities and personal development
• Handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting

• Competitive salary of $43,825 per person (total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple)

Requirements

• Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
• Legally married couple for at least two years
• Age 27 or older
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
• Pet limitations; only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
• Valid driver's license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans
• Comfortable leading daily devotions and taking students to Sunday chapel services
• High school diploma or GED required
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrate high integrity as role models for students
