Care for Youth, Grow as a Family
Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to join our community as Flex Houseparents. In this unique role, you will provide a nurturing environment for 8-12 students in on-campus homes.
Your family will play a vital part in shaping the lives of these young individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a couple, you will guide and support them, helping them grow into capable and confident adults.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a consistent family-like structure for students
- Handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting
Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Legally married couple for at least two years
- Age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Limits on pets; only fish and one dog of approved breeds permitted
- Valid driver's license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
