Job Description
As a House Parent at Milton Hershey School, you will serve as a live-in caregiver for students, providing a nurturing and stable family-like environment. This role requires married couples to guide a small group of students while managing various duties, including administering medication and overseeing budgeting. You will be responsible for creating a consistent family-like structure for your students, handling responsibilities such as driving, reporting, and providing daily care.
Required Skills and Qualifications
We are seeking married couples who have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and hold a valid driver's license. Additionally, both spouses must complete an individual employment application, demonstrating a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
Flexibility and Scheduling
This is a unique career path that takes consideration and commitment from both spouses. The schedule includes nine days on followed by three days off, with workdays including a period of personal time while students are at school. You will also receive a three-week paid summer vacation.
