What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family-Like Environment Leaders position at Milton Hershey School?
Caregivers for Youth in Need:
Milton Hershey School is dedicated to providing an exceptional education and care to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a Houseparent, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive family-like environment for these students.
You and your spouse will reside in one of our on-campus homes and work together to provide guidance, care, and support to a group of approximately 8-12 students. Your responsibilities will include driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. You will also be expected to lead daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
We offer a competitive salary of $43,825 per person, making a total compensation package of around $150,000 per couple. This includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. You will also receive comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Our schedule consists of nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school. You will also receive three-week paid summer vacation.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. You must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. We abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, and pets are allowed with certain restrictions.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people. If you are committed to helping others and making a difference, we encourage you to apply.
