Job Description
Couple leadership roles are available at Milton Hershey School as Houseparents. In this unique position, married couples work together to provide a family-like environment for 8-12 students. Responsibilities include supervision, transportation, medication administration, and fostering a supportive community. This role requires couples to be comfortable leading daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and they must be legally married for at least two years. Couples are also required to abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus policy. Additionally, they must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have a valid driver's license. They will also need to become certified to drive student home vans.
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary of $43,825 per person, totaling approximately $150,000 per couple. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, and retirement savings. Relocation assistance and paid training are also provided. The schedule includes nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school. A three-week paid summer vacation is also offered.
