The Youth Development Specialist role involves married couples serving as flex houseparents, providing guidance and support to a group of 8-12 students. Responsibilities include administering care, driving, managing household tasks, and ensuring a safe and nurturing space for students. You will be part of a team that provides a consistent family-like structure for students, handling responsibilities such as budgeting, reporting, and more. When initially hired, you will cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you and your spouse should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. You should be legally married for at least two years, and both spouses should be age 27 or older. You should also be able to lift up to 50 lbs and demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students. Additionally, you should be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
