About Our Mission

Milton Hershey School is dedicated to providing a top-notch education to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education and resources to succeed in life.

Compensation Package

Our compensation package includes a salary of $43,825 per person, totaling $150,000 per couple. In addition, we offer comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life insurance, disability options, and retirement savings.

Couples will also receive relocation assistance and paid training. The schedule allows for nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school. A three-week paid summer vacation is also included.

Job Responsibilities

As houseparents, couples will be responsible for nurturing and guiding a group of students in a family-like environment. They will handle daily responsibilities, provide support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and live on campus. Couples must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (Note: Proselytizing is prohibited).

Candidates must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older and have been legally married for at least two years. No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.

Requirements

We require candidates to have a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students. Both spouses must complete an individual employment application.

Candidates must be comfortable living on campus, following a smoke-free and weapon-free policy, and having limited pets. Valid driver's license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans required.
