About the Role
The Youth Development Specialist at Milton Hershey School plays a vital role in providing nurturing support to students in a family-like environment. As a flex houseparent, you will oversee a group of approximately 8-12 students, handling daily responsibilities and fostering their growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent care and support to students in a family-like environment
- Handle daily responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting
- Foster growth and development of students through guidance and mentoring
- Work closely with other staff members to ensure seamless integration of student care
Requirements
Candidates must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. They must also be married couples who have been legally married for at least two years, both spouses aged 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children residing in the student home. Additionally, they must abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, and only fish and one dog of approved breeds are permitted. Valid driver's licenses and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required.
